So, the weather is quite frightening, there are mountains of snow, I think I somehow strained my thigh ploughing the snow on the yard (for two fricking hours), but we're leaving for a six-hour drive to my aunt's now. Christmaaaaas ♥ Have a happy one, y'all!

Suvi ja Sanna, kiitos kauniista korteista ♥

I posted a sequel to A Footballer's Guide to Passing (Notes) at [info]unitedslash. I actually did it. Must be Christmas adrenalin. Now we'll see if the community is alive at all anymore.

I took some pics around our yard today around noon. -23°C and so so pretty. Also at noon the sun was at its highest, not much above the horizon, really.

Pics be here )

... that repeats over and over in my head and I need to listen to like woah. Again I wish I could play piano properly. But not bothered enough to actually do something about it, of course >.<

Last week was my final week of classes before they start again 11 January. All went well or very well - when it comes to English. I think I did abysmally in French and then I skipped the pedagogy exam (but had I gone I'd have failed), re-take in February. Need to read a book and write one essay during the hols, not so much. Also signed my lease contract and am moving in in the first day of the new year!

Now I'm at my sister's, looking after my niece and being amazed at how quickly it got so cold. It's quarter past ten now, and the temperature's dropped to -25°C for the night. I swear when I was home on Sunday it was only -5°C. My car looks so completely frozen on the yard. I failed to think of adequate footwear when I left, otherwise I'm good for cold weather. We went skiing today with Aamu. Or rather, she did and I walked behind her to pick her up every time she lost her balance. I'd really love to teach her how to skate. Maybe in a year or two.

Tomorrow the kiddo's going to her grandma's, so I get to hang out with the dog in this gorgeous house and I get to explore my bro-in-law's massive collections of Marvel comics, fantasy novels and sci-fi DVDs to my heart's content ^__^

ETA. Finished 1984 last night and still so incredibly perturbed by it.

I forgot my translation >.< Honest to my favourite teddy bear, I did. And now I'm trying to do it and I hate this one so much *throttles*

Then there's..
- finishing Huckleberry Finn
- French. Need I say more?
- raking up the leaves on the yard. IHU, our big yard
- oh wait I didn't order the wig yet -.-
- finishing the extra assignment for introduction to study of literature or I'm never going to get those annoying two credits

...

I wanna play with my cat, make a blueberry smoothie and watch Friends DD:

ETA. Also, our internet connection has gone from bad to worse, and I cannot watch streams on my computer. I would have loved to see yesterday's game. I'm thinking of getting Canal+Sport when I move in January. Oh, and can I just say awwwwww

I've been wondering all today and yesterday about this. If Finland was portrayed as an anthropomorphic character, how would you tell the story of the Finnish Civil War through the character?

Seriously. I've been thinking about it so much I feel like I need to write something about it.

I have to give up NaNo this year. I'm so pissed. But it's either give up that or give up school, especially French, which is proving so hard it has made me cringe every time someone just says 'French'. Up until now, I was doing alright with NaNo, catching up by 9000 words this weekend, but I won't have time for it as my exams are coming up. It would have been the third time in a row to do it, I don't know, it would have been neat to do.

At least I'm writing fic again, sort of, a bit. Posted these last night @ [info]tinydistraction and [info]unitedslash.

I'm starting to get NaNo jitters now! I spent the whole morning reading a 40-page article about comparative literature and summarizing it >.< Now I have time to feel excited. And I am. Also, completely mortified. Is it possible for me to do this after not really writing anything outside of school in a year or so? I have no idea, and for once that is an amazing feeling xD NaNo just means a crazy adventure to me, and the most important thing is to get your feet wet, never mind the alligators that eat you after you've done that...

I see my writing is already forming into my patented crazy-only-half-conscious-style I use during the writing month *g*

This year, if anyone is interested, it's fanfiction. Harry Potter, alternative reality. I'm trying to process some sort of a plot right now. It's still five hours till midnight.

Anyone else doing NaNo?

Also hello again, paid account *snuggle*

I don't even watch Supernatural. But Jared Padalecki is so much better-looking than Jensen Ackles. Sure Jensen's cute but... that's kinda it.

Had to get that out of my system xD *waits for swarms of fangirls to come with their knives*

Also, wtf plus account where'd you go? My icons!!

The following is from Dirty Tackle:

Mouth kisses: A key to success

Bosnia-Herzegovina have made it to a playoff for World Cup qualification for the first time in their brief history and manager Miroslav Ciro Blazevic (picture above, second from right) says the secret to their success is all down to one thing: passionate mouth kisses.

Wait — what?

“I take two of my players and tell them, ‘Love him! Kiss him!’ and he kisses him.”

What?! Is there a camera rolling and R&B music playing softly in the background as this is happening? Are you sure you’re not a gay porn director, Miroslav?

“They I [sic] tell them they have to kiss each other straight to the lips.

“The secret of my success is in a unity of a squad. You can’t do anything without an atmosphere in a team.”

And what atmosphere is that, Miroslav? One of team make-out sessions and post-match games of spin the bottle? Again, I have to ask, are you sure you’re not a gay porn director?

Do keep in mind that these quotes are from Blazevic’s column on Croatian news website Net.hr, which makes me wonder just what his full column looks like on a week to week basis. It must be like some kind of sport themed erotic fan fiction.

A team-building technique I can completely approve of ^____^ What surprises me is that the coach has the balls to say stuff like that, within the context of a sport culture like football.

Jenna, AKA Ukraine from hetalia_tweets, spent four days here. I had an amazing time, hearing about Alfred's and Yao's houses and #IGGYPANTS and talking Hetalia and showing Fin's Autumn (which was quite miserable, excepting the Friday). Hetalia is so totally taking over my life... but I'm very very much still watching all the football and keeping up with everything... I absolutely cannot wait for Owen to come back *misses gorgeous curls*

I failed an exam on general linguistics on Thursday >.< but it really wasn't your fault, Ukraine xD the teacher is crazy specific and demanding, cause about half of us failed *g*

NaNo's starting soon. Not sure yet what I'll do, but it'll be so good to write again... right now the most probable choices are continuing the footie fic from last year or staring an H/D story I've been thinking of.

Donated £4.56 to Children In Need via Save Ianto Jones, and will repeat it tomorrow. I got Jenna to watch some Doctor Who and Torchwood and in the process realized how much I miss Ianto :/

What else, hmm.. uni life is settling, new friends are awesome, especially for already helping me with loads of things. And just today I was contacted by an old middle school friend, total surprise but such ahappy one ^____^

.... I think I'll go tweet now xD

I was so sick yesterday I couldn't even get out of bed >.< Today it's a bit better, which is great because I'm home alone and I can just lie around xD

Oh, and on Monday I applied for an apartment with TOAS. There'll probably be a free one next Autumn. And there's a girl I've got to know who is going to France for the Spring term and she's looking for someone to rent her place for the time she's away, and it's right in the city centre... dunno, but it's very tempting.

Skipping my last lecture tomorrow to go to Jyväskylä (roadtripping with friends ♥ ) where we'll stay the weekend catching up with more mates. And meeting Nennu's boyfriend's mate who's also into United, I get to talk football to someone ^____^

Any one of you have Skype? My usernames are shandoraz and volcanicpuffins (mainly for Hetalia bznz but I don't really care which one you add, if you do). Would love to talk to you! ^___^
